Health and Safety Update
An update on the Savannah African Art Museum's response to the Coronavirus:
Due to the continued surge in COVID-19 cases throughout Georgia, we have decided not to reopen on July 8 as originally planned. Please understand that this decision was not made lightly and our priorities are with keeping our visitors and staff safe.
Georgia’s COVID-19 rate recently hit an all-time high over the holiday weekend at 3,472 active cases, and we fear that number will rise after July 4th statistics are factored in.
Safety is our top priority, and we cannot risk the health of our patrons or our workers. We'll continue to monitor developments related to COVID-19 and look forward to welcoming visitors back to our gallery when it is again safe to do so.
In the mean time please keep up with us on our newly launched YouTube channel. Every Friday we upload a new video focusing on an object in the collection, a represented culture, or an activity!
