Health and Safety Update

An update on the Savannah African Art Museum's response to the Coronavirus:

The Savannah African Art will be re-opened for tours on October 7, 2020 for limited hours.
Our limited hours will be as follows:
 Wednesday - Saturday | 12 pm - 5 pm with the last tour starting at 4 pm.

What to expect during the reopening:
  • Masks will be required for all visitors and staff.
  • If you do not have a mask, masks will be available in a kit at the front desk for a $1 charge. This kit includes one mask and one glove to be used for the stairway handrails.
    ***Please note that the museum takes exact change or payment by card only.
  • Tour group capacity at the museum is reduced. 
    • We will be limiting our group size to 5 people per group and limiting available tours to only West or Central Africa. Highlights tours will be temporarily unavailable.
    • If you have a group of 10 or more the group will have to be split up into separate smaller groups.
    • Tours will also be limited to 30 minutes to ensure that the public areas can be sanitized
      between tours.
  • Signage will be placed through out the museum to direct flow and to encourage social distancing. 
  • Sanitizer stations will be located throughout the building for guests and staff. 
  • During phase 1 of reopening, we will continue to have our virtual resources available, such as, Virtual Tours, Workshops, and Classes.
