Mentor-based Learning Opportunities
The Savannah African Art Museum offers a range of hands on learning opportunities to students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Internship programs are available to students who are interested in a career in the arts and fields related to museum. In addition to developing skills through projects within the museum departments, interns participate in content training and interact directly with the museum’s guests by leading tours through the curated galleries. Offered internships are year-round in 10 week intervals and are flexible with academic schedules.

Full- and part-time internships at the Savannah African Art Museum are open to college undergraduates and graduate-level students of all majors, as well as recent graduates. For certain internships, you may be able to obtain funding or academic credit through your educational institution. Check with your career services center for more information.
High school students are eligible for internship opportunities through several formal programs. We also welcome high school students as summer volunteers.
How to apply
Download the internship packet and select the department and area that interests you, also, fits in your academic interests and skills. In your application, please include a cover letter explaining your interest in this internship and the Museum area you've selected. You will also need to upload a résumé describing your experience, and two letters of recommendation. Students applying for an internship in the Design Department will be asked to upload a portfolio.
