Honoring and Celebrating Museum Workshop Series

2023

Happy 2023!

This year’s workshop theme will be “Honoring and Celebrating” in a three-part series. We will have a host of workshops honoring & celebrating ancestors, family, traditions, trailblazers, the earth, harvest time, etc., each with a hands-on activity for participants ages 6 and up.

Affirmation Journal Making Workshop

Saturday, January 14, 2023
11:00 am - 1:00 pm | 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Affirmations are statements of truth. They are often used to encourage and reinforce positive thinking to create positive outcomes.

In this workshop, you will be wrapping a blank journal in an African printed fabric and designing a cover sheet for the inside of your journal. Once the journals are wrapped and finished we will be setting our affirmations for the new year and using our new journals.

** With all of the support and interest in our workshop we have opened a second section of this workshop at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

Our workshop will be hosted on the second floor of the Upbeat Village Terracotta Gallery! This space is stair access only and we do not currently have an elevator or wheelchair access in this annex building. Registration is required for all workshops and lectures.
