We are looking for driven, enthusiastic, and self-motivated students to join our High School Volunteer Community Service Program.  In this program, you will work alongside our Volunteer Coordinator to understand and present the introduction gallery for our guests.  Volunteering here is a great experience in the museum field, public speaking, and art history appreciation.  As well as a great way to fulfill your Community Service requirements at your school.  This will provides students with an Introduction to African Art.

When is the Program available? 

This program is always available with parental and/or teacher approval.  The program is set up to provide the Community Service 20 hours required of High School students to meet there community service requirement.   


What are the requirements? 

  • Student volunteers must have parental and/or teacher approval to be part of this program

  • Have an interest in Art and Art History

  • Have a drive to speak to the public

  • Open to learn about African Art, history, and culture

  • Strong work ethic and high performance standard

  • Detail oriented

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills

What would be your responsibilities?

  • Learn, synthesize, and speak fluently on the museum's on-display 'Introduction Gallery'

  • Review the rules of the tour with guests and prepare them for the next stage of their tour
