1/22, 11am – 12:30pm - To coincide with the 1/27 closing of the exhibit, ROOTS: Hair-Culture-History, Exploring the Hair & Cultures of West & Central Africa” our workshop participants will be taken on a tour of the “Hair” exhibit and then view the 2019 Academy Award winning Animated Short Film, “Hair Love” by Matthew A. Cherry, Bruce W. Smith.
A brief discussion of both will follow.
Registered workshop participants will meet at Front entrance of the main SAAM bldg. for the tour, 201 East 37th Street/corner of Abercorn promptly @11am.
Film viewing and discussion will follow tour at 2nd floor of the Upbeat Village Terracotta Gallery – Note: Stair access only; no elevator or wheelchair access available
