Savannah African Art Museum offers Walk-In Tours that are given daily ( Wednesday - Saturday, excluding holidays) and subject to docent availability. Tours begin every 30 minutes. Our last full length tour of the day begins at 4:00 pm.

If your party or group exceeds 14 people your tour will have to be scheduled under group tours and will need to be requested no sooner than two weeks from the date of your tour. 

The Savannah African Art Museum offers 3 tour types below that focus on different themes of Leadership, Initiation, Problem Solving, Prestige, and Ancestry and Spirits. 

** Please be aware that tours last on average 60 minutes in length.

West Africa Tour

Guinea, Mali,  Benin and more!

Our West Africa Tour takes an in depth look at the art and cultures from the countries of West Africa. 

This tour comprises of the galleries we have located on the first floor of the museum, including the rotating exhibition gallery.

Central Africa Tour

Congo, Kenya, Angola, and more!
Our Central African Tour takes an in depth look at the art and cultures from the countries of Central and East Africa. 

This tour comprises of the galleries we have located on the second floor of the museum, in addition to the the rotating exhibition gallery on the first floor.

Highlights Tours

Best of both worlds! 

Our Highlights Tour covers a hand full of highlight works from both of our floors dedicated to West and Central African art. 
This tour is recommended for new visitors who are new to or are unfamiliar with the collection and the museum.
